Newlove Neighbourhoods Fund

In conjunction with Baroness Newlove, TVF is delighted to set up and launch the Newlove Neighbourhood’s Fund; an integrated nationwide programme which addresses crime in seven regions across the UK.

The Newlove Neighbourhood’s Fund is a one-stop shop to help local activists to be more effective in their approach to raising funds and promoting local activities within their communities.

TVF is providing red-tape-free funding and resources to seven activists across the UK to address crime at grass roots level. The seven neighbourhoods as identified in Baroness Newlove’s ‘Our vision for safe and active communities’ report are:

  • Hackney
  • Havering
  • Merthyr Tydfil
  • Shepway
  • Southampton
  • Stockport
  • Wakefield

All seven local activists working in these areas will receive funding, allowing the community activists to decide how best to use this resource with the minimum of bureaucracy. In addition to the funds, TVF is also providing mentoring and access to volunteer resources to enable the seven activists to improve operations for the long term.

Areas include:

  • Business planning
  • Working with Councils
  • Accounting
  • Managing volunteers
  • Marketing
  • Raising funding from the public sector
  • Project management
  • Organising processes and policies
  • Monitoring and evaluation
