Over 780 Sri Lankan English teachers attended the workshops which were focused on practical tips and advice on how to create interactive, productive lessons. The workshops were based on the Sri-Lankan English curriculum and in-line with the requirements set out by the Sri Lankan Ministry of Education.
For many of the teachers it was their first opportunity to practice their language skills with a native English speaker. Many commented that it had given them a renewed enthusiasm for teaching the language through new methodologies which they will intend to take back to their classroom. LifeCycle estimate the trained teachers will intern teach over 15,000 students in the coming year.
“I am very thankful for the voluntary service rendered to the Provinces. The three day teacher training sessions you conducted were very useful. Your service is very much appreciated on behalf of the Provincial Dept of Education and the participants.”
