True Volunteers
|
TVF has found that many volunteers want to be part of a charity which does not have
a high cost base, is not impersonal and where they can make a difference. TVF’s
unique set-up is based on the vision that everyone should have a ‘social career’
which is run in parallel with their paid job. This is achieved by donating a set
number of hours each week to a charitable cause. This phenomenon will be known as
Personal Social Responsibility. TVF is a charity where True Volunteers can witness
the outcomes of the projects they work on and are empowered to make a difference
in a unique organisation.
Last year, over 100 True Volunteers empowered over 110,000 people through
education across 28 countries. These True Volunteers adhered to the Pay to Work
principle. Not only were they not paid for their work but they also did not claim
their personal expenses which included travel, telecommunications and postage costs.
True Volunteers work diligently, professionally and meet pre-defined timescales
to ensure TVF delivers an unparalleled service to its corporate sponsors. TVF’s
organisation consists of different age groups, skill-sets and experience levels.
The common bond being their dedication to the cause. True Volunteers include company
staff and U.K. Civil Servants who are allowed to work for TVF during allocated hours,
full-time staff funded by grants from the European Union, part-time professionals,
students, migrant workers, housewives, the unemployed and the retired. True Volunteers
work together through a next generation Extranet from countries as far afield as
China and the Philippines.
