In Madagascar, where half the population is under 14 years of age, it is important for children to have access to sports and playground facilities during weekends and school holidays to help prevent the growing concern of child gang culture. The town of Ampefy does not have a children’s playground, and the community leaders have requested assistance to organise the following basic equipment and facilities: 1 roundabout, 1 see-saw, 6 swings, sand-pit for long-jump practise, basketball net & 4 basket balls Most materials will be locally-made, thereby benefiting the local craftsmen. Moreover, this project will give many hundreds of local children the opportunity to have fun, enjoyment and direction.
