This project focuses on a very poor rural area near Durban, in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. This area has one of the highest incidences of HIV/AIDS in the country and many children are being left without parents or any means of support. The Isihlangu Sabasha School in the Valley of a Thousand Hills area looks to provide free education and support to such families and children. Providing suitable provisions for the children is difficult as the number of children being cared for is rising all the time as more as more families are affected by this pandemic.
TVF will ensure that a class of 40 children will be provided with new shoes at the start of the school year in January 2010. Often, this is the first pair of shoes a child will own and they are vitally important, not only for practical reasons but for self esteem.
